April and May are wonderful months to travel around. Springtime brings a new life and colors. The temperature is warm and the countryside full of flowers and birds just like in a wildlife movie. This year we’ve the visit of 3 Swiss groups for a guided walking trip. One week exploring the coastline and inland. Based at Casa da Eira they have all the comfort they need after a walk. For those who live surrounded by mountains the unexplored coastline is something unique… and it is. For us it’s a pleasure to see how they interact and how pleased they can be. After all despite the distances from the mountains to the see is just a small step but a real new experience.

The autumn has arrived and the landscape starts changing. Although we miss the rain it’s always a pleasure to receive the blue light from the sky. The truth is we have more than 300 days without rain per year… uau… hard to believe but makes us think we are close to Africa indeed. We miss the Lions and the Zebras :-) but we’ve a wonderful nature and coastline to explore. During our self guided walking holiday’s one of the most famous and recognized characters is the Sheppard. They’re still there in a lost and quiet world apart from the frenetic movement of our days, always gentle, always friendly and always open to have a little chat. It makes us desire a more simple world. Hey Mr. Sheppard it’s a pleasure and honor to see you, God bless the simple souls and the simple ways of life.
