Três Marias

We use this hotel as part of Cycling Charming Hotels holiday. Três Marias, or Three Maries, is located between the villages of Porto Covo and Vila Nova de Milfontes. Previously well known for its al fresco dinners the farm now welcomes guests to overnight, as a first step towards the completion of a Rural Tourism project. The setting provides the quiet, freshness and retreat-like feel, ideal for infinite hours of rest.

The two double bedrooms are part of the beautiful country house where the owners,

Cláudia and Balz, live with their children. The decor is simple in its linen and cotton whiteness, full of light and cool in the summer but cosily warm in the wintertime. Both rooms are independent, with on-suite bathrooms, a small leisure area and inviting porch – to take naps or have unhurried breakfasts in.

At the “Três Marias” the landscape is wide and varied, downhill through the fields

and onto a meadow with cork oaks and uphill again all the way up to the “Serra do Cercal” mountains – only 4 kms away from the Aivados beach, between Porto Covo and Milfontes, surrounded by the Agro-forest Ecological Reserve. The perfect location for long walks, bike, donkey or horse-back rides along the trails that the proprietors know so well and are happy to share with their guests.
