Fauna

The county’s habitats are a shelter for many mammals such as wolves, lynx, wild cats, foxes, wild boars, goat, deer, hares, and mongoose. The bird life is astonishing and species seen include white stork, flamingos, bee-eaters, hoopoes, short toed eagles, marsh harriers and black winged stilts. When you visit the Natural Park and take a look into its fauna, it could give the idea that the bird life is its most prominent feature, for the number of species is greater than any other area of similar dimensions in Portugal.
